I change blades with each shave however I only shave twice a week so I use about 100 blades/year. For me it's not worth trying to save a few pennies since my favorite blades are under $10/100. Manufacturers recommend 3-10 shaves per cartridge. In my experience, every shave with a razor blade (cartridge or double edge) slightly degrades the blade. With experience, I found that for my hair (and I assume most others) it is really closer to 5 shaves ....
